The Musée des Tapisseries is housed in the historic setting of a former archbishop's palace. On display are series of tapestries dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, together with fine furnishings originating from that time. As well as the work of established artists, the museum also exhibits the latest work of modern artists from all over the world.

Built in the 1970s by the artist Victor Vasarely, this is a place where visitors can really explore the use of art in architecture, as well as discover for themselves the works of Vasarely, seen as the founder of 'Op Art'. Exhibits include his 'plastic alphabet', Vasarely's apartment building designs and numerous optical illusions.

Housed within the Priory of the Knights of Malta, the Musée Granet is one of the finest of France's provincial museums of archaeology and fine art. Most of France's best painters from the 16th to the 20th centuries are represented within its permanent collection. Over the past twenty years, it has acquired eight of Cézanne's works of art. Its archaeological collection recalls the ancient history of Aix en Provence right from the earliest days of civilization.
