Aix is well connected to other towns and cities in the region and beyond by a good road network. Aix boasts an extensive bus network, with over 20 routes serving the city centre and surrounding residential areas. There are bus stops alongside most of the city's main attractions. Bus tickets can either be bought in advance or at the time of boarding. Books of tickets can also be purchased, making this a very economical form of transport around Aix en Provence. The main bus station is located in the city centre. From here, other bus services also provide a cheap way to travel between Aix and regional and national destinations.

From here, visitors can catch local and regional trains, as well as standard services, and travel to French cities further afield.
